"Memories" by Kinza Khalid

Memories – the word made me recall a thousand recollections from the past fused together in a blended amalgam of thoughts and emotions.
Memories tend to leave unaltered prints on our minds. They are responsible for the buildup of our thoughts about a certain person, location or an event.
Soft and subtle feelings, harsh and rude words, soothing songs and a peaceful environment, a certain achievement and associated happiness, those beautiful surprises and amazement all make up a part of us. These things when recalled cause a sudden mood transition in a person and it feels as if we are living in that time once more.
A particular incident, people associated to it, background sounds, a musical note, all flash back in the form of a film unrolling itself over the curtains of our mind. Instantly, a time travel starts taking a person to all those moment and to re-experience them once more. And those moments which are mere thoughts now lost in wilderness. But yes, we can agree that these are the memories which tend to influence our future thoughts and future responses. Soothing memories gives confidence and boost the decision making ability while bad experiences act to make a person feel guilty, sad and sometimes sort of rejected. Bad influences always leave a lesson in our minds and help in avoiding such situations in the future. It is a sort of hyper awareness that follows a bad experience. Faith buildup also attributes to the memories resulting in the permanency of our beliefs.
I have tried to summarize my general opinions and ideas on such a vast topic. You are free to agree or disagree on them but it’s acceptable to say that since the evolution of man it is the memories that have helped him survive in the world on the basis of his past experiences gathered in the form of hundreds of reminiscences.
